My name is Kyle Palmer and I would like to be addressed as Kyle or Lt. Palmer. I chose my name because I am related to Major Richard Winters.

I am 19 years old and will be 20 on the 17th of November. Go figure the same day as Monty and The Desert Fox. I have always loved WWII since I was 6 yrs old.

I am from Michigan but I live in Connecticut now.

I am into all kinds of WWII history and I didn't mention that my Great Uncle was an Alamo Scout in WWII. his name is SGT. Franklin Fox. If you have a relative that was an alamo scout I would love to hear from you.

Anything History related is my hobby.

All History because it is all fascinating

I am also believe it or not related to Monty Rommel and the man behind the Valkyrie Plot, Colonel Claus Von Stauffenburg.

Hello, I am a new user, too, but for the life of me I cannot find a way to post my query re a WWII relative who is buried at Margraten in Holland. I have a snapshot of him taken supposedly in 1944 showing him at his home wearing a Third Army shoulder patch. His record of death shows him as having served with the 41st infantry battalion, armored division. The 41st was very busy during the war, having seen action at Sicily, Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge, so I wonder how my relative could have been home to Gloucester, MA in 1944. Also, he was, according to the family, with Patton's army when he died in April of 1945. Patton, according to what I've found on line, had command of the 41st until 1942. The 41st joined him again in late 1944-5. Yet there is the shoulder patch, clearly that of the Third army, in that 1944 snapshot. Either the hand-written date on the photo is wrong or the entry re his unit at death is incorrect.

    Any thoughts???

Also, if I have to post this in a new thread, will someone please tell me how???

    Many thanks in advance

Hey there welcome to the forum kyle.

wow, how are you related to so many notable people?

seems like a pretty neat family tree you got!

But can you explain more about how your family is related to Monty, Rommel and Stauffenburg? because these people come from 3 very different worlds. An Englishman, A Swabian , and an Aristocrat.

But anyway welcome to the forum Kyle.

    Suzie.

Try posting this in the Genealogy forum where it will get more traffic. Just click on the forum name on the main screen. When the list of threads comes up, click on New Thread (upper left above the thread titles). Type in a title for your thread, then put your text in the appropriate box and submit it. Good luck.
