I would have to say Silent Night when the Germans and American soldiers have to spend the night together in a house on Christmas.
Three Godfathers w/ John Wayne, Ward Bond, Pedro Armendariez, Harry Carey Jr. Ben Johnson and Hank Wordon. That is a Christmas-Western and simply is one hell of a great movie. After that, i'd have to say: White Christmas w/ Bing himself.
Good grief, too many good oldies in there as to "a" favorite. How can it be Christmas without It's a Wonderful Life ? Or Dicken's A Christmas Carol (one of the old b/w versions), White Christmas, or Miracle on 34th Street? The funny new ones have to include A Christmas Story, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Carey!
White Christmas followed by It's a wonderful life and ending the season with Christmas story or National Lampoons Christmas vacation. And really what is Christmas without a cousin Eddie and lights that won't work?
One I grew up with for many years is rudolph the red nosed raindeer. the crappy animation from 1964 is so appealing to watch for some reason. It's one of my favs because it brings me back to my childhood But one I never miss around christmas is a christmas story.. heh that was a funny movie. How many of you can relate ? Suzie
I think my favorite is any movie I can get my whole family to watch at the same time. I'll always have a soft spot for White Christmas, Holiday Inn, and It's a Wonderful Life, as well as all of the animated specials from the 1960's and early 70's.
Not sure - but earlier this week when it was snowing, I settled down and watched a DVD of 'The Shining' right through.......
My favourite Christmas movie is "A Christmas Carol", written by Charles Dickens. There was this really excellent live-action movie version of it on TV several years ago, but for the life of me, I can't remember which one it is. Falling short of that, the Disney version of the same story (retitled "Mickey's Christmas Carol"), is just as enjoyable.
I watched all of mine yesterday, A White Christmas first, It's a Wonderfull Life second, and finally A Christmas Story. I haven't decided if I'll watch the Grinch again or not, it is on later today. on Starz. Happy Holidays to all my fellow Rogues, and my the fat man NOT leave you coal in your stocking!
