    Hi Guys

Here is a recent addition. John found this one and gave me the heads up.

I really do not collect the Ost Front Medals, but he said that I needed to take a look and consider this particular one...

Well, here it is. Many thanks John Mate.

    Best Regards, fischer...:D

very nice so do you have the meat order to go with this fine doc fischer ?

mine was removed from a recon motorcylcist with heavy brown leather dispatch case as well by a forward unit of US soldiers in central Germany 1945, no doc sadly.

    Nice one Fischer mate.
I couldnt let this go by without letting you know.
Its a nice layout to the doc. as well, but the name clinches it.
Now I have to find one with my name!

Heh heh, great find John and great buy FISCHER ;-))

I got lucky earlier this year when I got four award docs that had the last name of one of my favorite most comicbook artists-by the name of Grell-as in Mike Grell who did Green Arrow comics and such ;-))

    Hello everybody,
thought I would share my latest iron cross 2nd class. A nice schinkel version with the narrower ribbon. Waited some time to get a good one.
Hope you like it as much as I do.

    best wishes John

Hi Erich, the cross is mint. No maker on the ring but the cross was advertised as a Deumer.

    regards John

John, I am impressed and, THAT's THE nicest one I have ever let my eyes gaze on. You want to know a sad and somewhat funny story? The price you paid for that cross is more than I could have bought a 1939 Knights Cross for, 10 or less years ago. Instead of buying that Knights Cross-which was for sale on Detlev Niemanns site at the time, I bought two Infantry Assault Badges (my first and only two for several years) as well as an Iron Cross, and a Hitler Youth Armband.

    Thanks DDucz.
Carl, I absolutely love reading your posts mate. ................................
They remind me of some of the things I should have done and in hindsight, well......
    Theres that sinking feeling again....
I got offered a para helmet, a few years ago, but the job I had at the time wouldnt allow me to buy it (financially). Since then they have rocketed to over twenty times what I could have had it for.
Oh what the hell, at least you got the other items and all original!

    kindest regards John

I hear you Mr. S the things we kick ourselves for now because of money. It is the root of all evil when collecting. Very nice item looks fresh from the factory.

Thank you John, and yup, I have many other sad stories. I turned down a mint DD M-35 Sauerland helmet that Kay Bruggemann offered to me first, before placing it up for sale on Weitzes site-only $500. Last I heard, it sold for $1,500 just a few weeks later. This was about 7 years ago. I could have had that helmet, but instead I bought an 1870 EKII and some other items. Had I already not hav espend $500 or so previous to getting my 1870 EK--I would have snatched that lid in the blink of an eye ;-))

One of the saddest stories I have to tell-concerns a Japanese Arisaka Bayonet and a chained SS Dagger-both were the real deal and as being sold by the man who got them while he was in service-also had a chained SA Dagger too. I had admired these items that he had ina showcase in his Surplus store-and people admired these items and showed interest but never paid the $40 for the SA, or the $50 each for the SS and Arisaka.

Well, would you care to guess what I bought for that $50? Im STILL cryin my eyes out about that stupid decision.

PS, since then, I have learned my lessons and I will be "biting the bullet" whenever I ger a great offer. I had one about two months ago, and have another in progress and a third in the works-as I type this ;-))

I look at it this way, what goes around comes around literally, maybe such items though sought and missed will come around again maybe in a cleaner and much more enviable financial position, hopefully all of us will be in the same as poor veterans pass and their dear wives close estates, the kiddo's are not interested except to offer such items or do I dare say it.......offer them to a museum. And then again if the militaria is bought/sold then we were not suppose to have it.
