Hi All, I have really only just started my interest in WWII after reading the war diary of the 11th Hussars (The 11th Hussars, (Prince Albert's Own), 1943) A few things I find fascinating: - How lucky some people were (example : being shot by a sniper only to have the bullet lodge in the compass on your belt) - How unlucky some people were (example : being involved in the war from 1939, fighting in multiple battles, only to die 2 weeks before the end of the war in Europe). - How often friendly fire incidents occurred - How little fighting occurred at night I'm looking forward to learning more through this forum. Cheers Luke
