what a great source of information this site is. I shall be spending namy weeks pouring over the pages here.... there goes my sleep
My own connection with WWII is my grandfather who died a few years ago, telling VERY little of his soldiering during the war. Since he died I have discovered he may have been at Dunkirk, but I know for sure he was guarding Athens airport, was captured in Greece and spent 4 years in an Austrian prison camp with his twin brother. They went patrolling tied so they would be taken together once they knew what was to happen there. They didn't really stand a chance of avoiding capture.
I hope to find out more information regarding the Greece campaign with the help of this forum

    Nice username,
Either a reference to the conflicts of the early 20th century, or an admittal of an interest in certain 'specialist' German films... :D.

    Hello by the way,
    Adam.

Is Boche a derogatory term for Germans and is it viewed as such by them?

Yes, referring to the early conflict. Winston himself being involved 'a bit'
and yes I believe it was a bit of a naughty word.
    thanks for the welcome!
