I am putting a uniform together and i was wondering what kind of equipment the British medics had during the war, i haven't found any information or pictures about it, so i just thought i should ask here.
Parachute medic equipment: 16 PARACHUTE FIELD AMBULANCE | WW2 PERSONAL LOADS 16 PARACHUTE FIELD AMBULANCE | MEDICAL EQUIPMENT (I see the photographs have been provided by a gent that may be familiar to some here. A reliable source.) You need to search for 'RAMC' (Royal Army Medical Corps). Quite a bit of stuff out there. Good luck, ~A
Thats an excellent link there for the airborne medic equipment. Thanks. The bag was called Unit 3 i think (atleast by the yanks) Regards, TBA
You should get all the necessary information from the Army Medical Services Museum. I have enclosed the address. They will also have copies of all the field training manuals etc from WW2 + RAMC Field Packs + Field Ambulance Equipment (MASH units to the Americans) AMS Museum Hope this helps ...incidentally this is my first posting. Regards QAJan (Canadian, who served 4 yrs in the QARANC)

The netting is actually 2 wire ladder splints. They were bendable into various positions to allow splinting of multiple types of fractures. They are still being used but slowly being replaced by a malleable splint such as the SAM splint.
