I noticed a thread in the New Member Section called "Former SS-Officer", the new member was called NaziVet, he said he was a former SS-Officer who served 1933-1945, but now the thread is gone and so are all of his posts, was he a real veteran or hoax?

Ya, it would be good to have another German veteran on the forum.

I once worked with a lady that was 84 years old when we hired her (9 years ago, she still works there!) at a state park to work in the visitor's center. She could type about 90 words a minute, mistake free, while talking about a different subject than she was typing about. Don't be so quick to judge!

How far back did you have to go to find that thread, not even a search is bringing up any trace!

I've been told by a few members that Axis vets at one point did actually post on this forum a few years back, they either passed away or simply stopped showing up. I've been trying to find their posts assuming they're still available, even contacted mods but so far no luck.

Hi Mehar, German Vets have visited this site before. Several did just because I asked them to do so. I know of at least 4 men from U 181 visited this site but none ever joined because of a few idiots who were here at the time and they all felt that if they did join? that those idiots in question-who are also no oonger here-would have probably made them into some sort of an Idol, and none wanted any chance of that happening. Most of those who I had invited here-have since passed away. I know of only two German Vets who I invited here-who are still living. One is KM the other is W-SS-one being an RKT-the other a DKiG Recipient.

As for any other WWII German Vets having come here and or having postd here? I can't say as I don't know of them-not that im saying no others ever came here-just that if they had? I wasn't aware of them being here. ;-))

Didn't you tell me of one Knight's Cross vet who used to post here around the 2000/2003 range? :D

I think it may have been this forum but I think I remember something about a Eastern Front Wehrmacht veteran as well. (I get my forums mixed up sometime :()

If "NaziVet" is indeed a real veteran I for one would love to hear their take on many issues discussed here. He seems to have found this thread (according to the salutes) but hasn't posted yet. Either he is in the process of replying, unable to reply due to forum restrictions, or simply not wanting to. :D

I for one have NO PROBLEM with vets of ANY country.

Their opinions are welcome, their presense is a privelage, and they are a disappearing aspect of the study of WW2. We should hold onto these lads, no matter where they served or what they did. They are living history.

My intention is not to glorify, but CLARIFY

I'll say one thing on the matter: We have never, ever removed posts of a legitimate ww2 veteran from this site.

Sometimes people just can't read between lines. Thanks for giving them a hint Otto. I shan't say anything about this either.

Closing this up for a bit as the issue is revolved. The posts are available and no veterans have been banned.

Here is one that I know of:

    http://www.ww2f.com/members/obstlt-gottfried-vhuh.html

He was the grandfather of Friedrich, a member who's not been active lately because of personal matters.

    Here are his two posts:
