The man behind "My Sharona" and other great songs by the Knack is dead. He died of lung cancer.

    R.I.P. Doug!

I was sorry to hear this, and while I did like "My Sharona", for the life of me I cannot think of anything but that one that he or the Knack did. Oh, I read it was brain not lung cancer. But that is of no matter, cancer is a nasty no matter where it decides to "appear". RIP.

As far as I know, My Sharona was the only song to get appreciable airplay. Remembering reviews from yesteryear, it was mentioned that all the songs on their albums pretty much sounded alike, with changes in lyrics.

I hate for him that his time here on Earth is done and I do hope that he did not suffer during his final days.

Their album, yes album. The Knack: Get the Knack.
Great tunes, yes they sounded similiar, but the samse can be said of any band really. I seriously like this band.
    Bummer.
