I love Sig's. I have a couple of them...9mm, and a .40. The .40 is my favorite. I hate the fact that I bought the same gun twice...once in Tennessee, then sold it to afford the move to Michigan, and then bought another when I got here. Planning fail.

Nice "toy" and I wouldn't mind having one of those myself. Whats the price range on these? One of my Nephews recently bought one of those I think they are called AR-15 Pistols?? Im not too knowledgable on the new suff coming out these days so I most likely have its designation wrong. Later this year I hope to have one of thouse Swiss Sphinx's as another household weapon. I love those things and they come in .380

AR-15 pistols?? I hope not. I'll have to get one. I don't enjoy the .380 myself. I do enjoy the AR-15 though. I have a Bushmaster that is a good time.

Carl, this item has a $300 rebate right now until 8 March. I ordered the rifle from Gilbert's Guns (really nice folks!) in Frankfort, KY. The price is $1650 for the rifle, but the 30 round mags had to be sent to my son in Texas who will mail them to me. Why? In MD, you can't buy the 30 round mag, but you can posses them. Go figure!

With my "extra" 300, I figure either a Walther PPS pistol or a Sig pistol. I need to rent a couple of Sigs and try them out before I decide.

(Hmmm.... Now I can follow my DW's logic on "saving" money when stuff is on sale! :D)

Beautiful Sig there Texson looks as light as a feather? I say go for the Walther PPS my brother has a Sig pistol and he enjoys it I have a Walther and personally I enjoy shooting it more than the Sig.

I have compared the Walther (my coworker-instructor's gun) with a rented Glock 17 with the 18 mag. I have to admit I really liked the Walther!:D

If you go with the Walther Texson I think you will enjoy it. If your dealing at a gun store go for the bigger mag. We have a small town gun store and the dealer was able to give me the 8 round mag instead of the 6 round that was with it. I don't think the dealer loses anything on it. Looking forward to seeing what you choose.

    Cheers Luke, Tex,

Luke, I think thats what they are called? Ill have to check with my Nephew next time I see him. I think he plinked down around $700 or maybe about $1, G for it? Nice weapon and next time we get together, were going to test his opur as well as my Mauser Sniper ;-))

Tex, same here as what 107th said-go for the Walther. Or maybe im not biased enough on gun makers and since I do have a Walther.... ;-))

If you can buy a new Sig for $300 and you pass on it...yikes. It's all a matter of personal preference but I like Sig's more than any other pistol I've shot.

Luke, what I meant was that since I "saved $300" on the Sig 556, I could "save" 300 in buying a pistol.

The Walther PPS at GilbertsGuns.com is listed at $550. But I need a good scope for my new bad boy rifle first. Then there's lasers too.

A 3 day 2 night Texas hog hunt is $700 (lodging/food/2 field dressed hogs) + airfare + car....

Ah, champagne tastes on a beer budget.....
