Hi Paul, im greatly looking forard to having a bit more access to ya here. I have been missing the WR site and when I can finally get another computer? ill be able to start spreading my time around more ;-)) PS, I got lots of new goodie pix for when that time happens ;-))

Take care Mate, and to also reply to the Remy gun position post--great work done on finding where he was. I sure wish he were still around to be able to see these photos and I bet he would have a few good stories to tell about that fight that were not talked about in his book ;-))

BTW, whenever the time comes? and hopefully not for at least 30 more years. My signed copy of that book is yours.

As an addition to the Remy PAK position photo. I would have felt pretty naked, had i been positioned there. I can imagine the some 15 or so tanks knocked out there as well as the some 100 Russian Infantry that Remy helped to dispatch.

Thanks mate you are more than generous as usual but i don't want to be seeing that book for a long , long time.

As i say the field there was one of the most fought over places on earth in July 1944 , funnily enough the field and some of the surrounding ones in the Tannenberg line are up for sale at the moment , wish i had enough to buy it , the ultimate piece of Militaria , a Battlefield !!!!!

Typical Remy position Carl the " Kopfstellung " out in the open , no wonder he was one of the most successful richtschutze , the little guy had balls as big as melons !!

You can say that again. I dont think I ever had the priviledge of having spent time with a Gent as Remy-who was as tough a guy as he was. He did have em as big as melons. I remember a few personal pics he showed to me that he took somewhere in Russia, one was him taking a picture of a column of T-34s passing his position and these tanks were literally within arms reach of where he was.

I also remember a few he took while in some village that was under attack. Also, thanks to you, I was able to get in touch with my favorite :vc: recipient and fellow person sharing the same kind of elan as Remy emitted so much of-Captain Annand ;-))
