As I mentioned in my introduction post, my grandfather worked for Republic Avaition in Farmingdale, NY during the war. He helped design the wing for the "Jug" and it's always had a special place in my heart because of this. I recently made a trip to Sevierville, TN to the TN Museum of Avaition. It's not a big museum but they do have a very nice collection of memorabilia and displays as well as a very nice, albiet small, static aircraft display. The focal point of the display are the two operational P-47's that they have on property. They have two fly-in's a year (spring and fall) and usually have various events throughout the year. I'll post the link to their website and recommend to anyone who happens to be visiting or passing through eastern TN to visit this museum. Tennessee Museum of Aviation Buzz
I have a picture in my gallery of five P47's in formation flight, I took at the Chino airshow back in 2005. http://www.ww2f.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/868/ppuser/8686
