All right, Rogues! Semper Fi is out for Hearts of Iron 3 and we're looking to get as many people involved in an online MP game as we can!

If you're interested, respond here or send me a PM.

If you're interested, make sure you download HAMACHI (this program allows us to connect to each other), XFIRE (for communication through out the day, similar to a messenger service), and SKYPE (for voice-chat during the game, unrivaled quality).

Getting all of these is essential to online play.

We like to play as often as we can, given the scope of the game. Talking on SKYPE and XFIRE allows us to work out any issues that may arise.

We are not opposed to running several games based on who can play and when. Here is a tentative schedule of when we play:

    Fridays: Game Start 6PM EST
    Saturday: Game Start 4PM EST
    Sunday: Game Start 4PM EST
    Monday: Game Start 6PM EST

We generally play for a few hours each night.

If you're interested, let me know what days and times you are available. We can also play during the week (no earlier then 5PM EST).

Hmmm, as you know I"m interested. I have to get Semper Fi so I will do that. But with my career..taking up most of my time, I"m limited to playing a little later in the evening.
So looking at your sched, Friday night..or maybe sunday late afternoon..would be the best for me. But during the week I'm good almost any night after 8 (all times eastern)

But the big problem is my dial up. Some people say I can play..while others say..I wouldn't be able to. (I really hate dial up)

exfire won't be a problem, Hamachi, and skype I would have to work on.

If I could make this work with you guys I would love to join and have some fun!

    Please advise
    Thanks

We can certainly give it a try! Once you get Semper Fi, let me know, and we can test out the 'crap' connection you have. In theory, you should be able to play, it might just be very laggy but only one way to find out.

Do you live in the boonies or some such? I thought Dialup had gone the way of the Dodo bird!

Do I live in the boonies? No, not really, just that my local government is slow in getting DSL to where I live (just outside of town) Every where else has it..but my township (sucks I know)
The powers to be, say we will have DSL by the end of the year (I'll believe it when I see it)
I like getting/purchasing games, and expansion physically (not downloading) Any idea the best store to get Semper Fi?

Sadly I don't think its released in stores, just online only. Try gamersgate.com which is where I got it from. The best way to DL it would be to go to a friends house (or some such) that has DSL and DL it there (though you probably aren't using a laptop for HOI3). Otherwise...if you start downloading now, it might be completed by this time next week ^_^

JTF-2 I know how you feel with the internet, I live just out of town and can't get anything other than dial-up or satalite, and satalite is hella expensive. You could always download Semper Fi to an external storage device, i.e. a flashdrive or some such at a friends house or something.

Yeah I don't use a laptop to play. I can download it at work here, which is not a problem. Off hand do you know how big it is? Would it fit on a flash drive?

I was going to guestimate around 120 - 130 MB myself.

I think its about 161mb, that's what my download was, regardless, it should fit on even the smallest of flashdrives w/o much effort.
