info on gourbesville,normandy please

    hi
    im going over too work on the family house in france near a place called gourbesville

    im taking a metal detector and going too see what might lurk in the garden over there as there were more than one property on that site untill some fighting during the war

    i just wondered if anyone on here knew of any infomation on fighting in and around gourbesville??

    its located between there and just north of amfreville,near st mere eglise if thats any help

    if theres anything documented about german positions and movements or allied positions or movements that i could get a copy of or read??

    any help would be greatly appriciated

    feel free too pm me any info or just post it in the thread

    Best I can figure, the US 90th Infantry Division passed through the area after June 12th, but if there was in combat, it was limited, as the division moved on to the west and was in the Golleville-Urville area 17 June. There also could have been some isolated paratroopers from the 82nd and/or 101st AB, but that probably would have been squad size or smaller.

    ill see what else i can find,maps of anything,
    i know theres a german cemetary near by from fighting in the area
