Research into fast convoy UGF.16 poses a couple of questions:

    1) One of the vessels in that convoy was the vessel "JAVA (Du)" of 9,250 tons, built in 1939.

I can't seem to uncover any information regarding the JAVA. It can't be the Dutch cruiser Java as she was sunk a couple of years prior to the convoy setting forth. (Oct. '44)
    Ideas/leads?

    2) One of the vessels in the convoy was the US Sea Robin of 7,886 tons, built in 1944 and carried 2,119 troops.

Again, the only "Sea Robin" I can locate is the sub. Ideas/leads?

    Thanks!

I have a brief cruise history of the SS Sea Robin. As you typed, built in 1944 by the Ingalls Shipbuilding Corp. A C3 type vessel, her first cruise was a departure from the New York Port of Embarkation, October 14, 1944.
