Hi all, I have what appears to be a Naval Kriegsflagge flag (dims 14 3/4" x 19 1/2") but whats interesting and got me confused is the insignia is from the Imperial German 1871-1919 era. I've provided a link to a picture I took of it. Anyone seen anything like this before? Any info would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/9QvdhS8zAgFJr1wq1243sA?feat=directlink
Either it is the Norddeutscher Bund Kriegsfahne (North German Confederation- War Flag) 1867-1871 or the Reichskriegs- and Marineflagge of the German Empire 1903-1921 I personnaly think its the Kriegsfahne of the Norddeutsch Bund. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...flagge_des_Norddeutschen_Bundes_1867-1871.jpg
@ sniper1946 - Thanks for posting the pic in the forum! Always have trouble getting pictures in these things. @Wikzardo - Thanks for the link. I agree, it looks like that flag...even down to the stitching which has got me questioning, is what I have a replica or the real thing? The material/fabric seems like burlap to the touch and the stitching seems to have been created by a machine (it's so uniformed). Definitely shows wear and age. Anyone know of a place I can get this looked at or to look for something that may help in figuring out replica vs authentic?
