Dear Gail, I am late in getting to this thread. As always I see that our gallant rogues have been doing a great job in assisting in you in your research.

My deepest condolences in the loss of your father, and hope that everything else will be turn out well. Please do continue to visit with us here and we will be happy to help you as best we can as you research your Dad's military history and will support you in honoring his memory.

On a personal note, my own serious research on my father's WWII history began following his passing in 1996, and it has been a source of great comfort and a process which has kept his memory very clear and close. I hope you will find it so for you, as well.

Thank you Michelle and everyone on the board. As a matter of fact I was just rewriting all the information into a story to be put into a memorial book that will be distributed at my fathers' Celebration of Life. I decided not to have the usual funeral and/or repass or memorial service. My father lived life to the fullest, loving fishing, bowling, golfing, carpentary, cooking and so much more and he was good at everything he did. I was proud of him before I had all this information and he was always my HERO. Now I know that I share my Hero Father with the nation and, with having a son-in-law serving in Iraq, I hold my head higher than ever before. I can't wait to share all this information with my grandson who is 9. They are studing WWII in 4th grade and he is going to be so excited.
Thank you again everyone for your time, your compassion and your kindness. I greatly appreciate it.

    One proud daughter,
    Gail Lombardo
