Hi, Does anyone have any info on this company (3037 QM BKRY CO)? My Dad served in the E.A.M. campaign 1943-1945. He received three service stars for Normandy, France, and Rhineland. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Larry
Here's some info; WWII Army Port Battalions: US Port Units in Antwerp in WWII and pics from a similar unit; 3032nd Bakery Company in Toul, France hope it helps
Dear Sir, The 3037th QM Bakery Company has the following Campaign Credits: Northern France July 25-September 14, 1944 Rhineland September 15, 1944-March 21, 1945 Also, the 3037th received a "Citation in the Order of the Day of the Belgian Army" for the period October 1944-May 1945. General Order 43-50. My research of the 3037th led me to the Order of Battle of the 13th Major Port, Transportation Corps. Just as the name implies, the 13th Major Port was a Logistical Support Entity to operate Allied Ports in Great Britain & the ETO. Initially operating at Plymouth, England, the 13th arrived at Antwerp, Belgium in October 1944. Enduring the Axis V-1 & V-2 campaign against Antwerp, the 13th Major Port operated the port past V-E Day, unti the unit was de-activated on October 31, 1946. May I suggest that you continue your research as per the port activities at Plymouth, England & Antwerp, Belgium. I believe there you will find attational facts as to the 3037th QM Bakery Company.
