    1. Your Name: Real name is Dave Burt. My board name 'Sapper6' was my call sign when I commanded a US Army combat engineer company
    2. Age: 43 yrs young and have been an avid military history buff since early childhood
    3. Origins: Originally from outside Chicago, but now live in southern Indiana
    4. Specifics: Interested in all aspects of WW2, but my focus has always been on the European theatre. I would love to learn more about the Pacific theatre
    5. Hobbies: Enjoy playing strategy games (both computer and board), reading history and fantasy, visiting museums
    6. Other: I have some interest in the Korean War period since my dad served there
    7. Miscellaneous: Too young to be a Vietnam vet, but I did get to play in the deserts of Eastern Africa (aka Somalia).

I knew a Sapper 6 at Hohenfells Germany in 98/99 (ish) seems like he was a captain.

And before somone pipes up and says: "Every Combat engineer Company Commander's callsign is 'Sapper 6' at one time or another...." I know.

    Welcome aboard.

Somalia, not a very nice place to vacation. I bet you have stories of your own you could tell. You will enjoy this site. Tons of knowledge and many words of wisdom from the men who were there.
