M1 HELMET NEED HELP WITH THE INSIGNIA

    Hi all
    im looking to buy this helmet but im having difficuilty finding what the rank insignia is ?, it seems to be going downwards so im guessing its not an american rank. Helmet is Vietnam era and painted a dark brown im told ??
    Any advice on this one it stands at £20, good or bad investment.

    p.s the rank insignia is a stencil

    So the rank is a tec ?

    Also how do i treat the rust on it from not spreading :)

    Its also painted a brown would that mean vietnamese soldier ?, seller says 100% original untouched. It looks the part

    Also sorry for all the question why is the rank upside down ?

    not saying it is tech rank? sgt, but along those lines dean..brads opinion needed..

    brown!! really! looks blue/grey from pic..

    wasn't the US tech sergeant rank phased out in 1955/58?

    not sure about air force

    Anyone know if Canadians wore those helmets? Canadian Sgt Majors use the 4 chevrons that way up, although not found one combined with the straight bars

    cancel that just noticed is only 3 chevrons

    I spent time in Korea ..if not mistaken looks like Old Korean markings for Master Sergeant ... now they use a leaves under the chevron. Four bars in Korean Army is Sergeant then it goes up by using chevrons. The camoflauge is American (post WWII) .... used by Korean Army.

    My two cents anyway
