can anyone identify this ww2 japanese sword?

    hi,

    my dad gave me a ww2 japanese sword that he brought about 15 years ago. he has passed it on to me and wants me to find out what it is ect. sadly for some reason its not letying me upload any pictures. so i will try to describe the best i can. the sword is in a dark green sheath with brass pattens on it. the handle looks like it has leather rapping around it. the blade has some japanese writing on it and also has the japanese flag on it. if any one could help tha twould be great thanks.

    It could be a late war version of the bronze tsuba Katana. Pictures would help.

    Ive seen photos of glennyboys sword on another forum,,its a chinese copy/fake i have its twin here with me now,i bought mine at pudsey militaria fair a couple of years ago to use as a wall hanger.The dealer had several identical swords.

    Ha. Been wondering about something I bought for pence decades ago that sprog beta now uses to defend his bedroom. Sprog Alpha googled it and landed here.

    Read so many theories now about '46127' swords, from fake, to blunted 'dress' blades and un-issued unsharpened, but am now leaning towards it being a copy.
    Quite nicely made though, and appears to at least have a hardened 'blade'.

    Sniper, is that your collection ? What a beautiful group of WW2 swords. The pattern seems venerable . The true vintage swords are often priceless but the wartime swords are more appealing to me.
