"Germany's biggest march of neo-Nazis later this month is targeting the construction of a memorial in London to the men of the RAF‘s Bomber Command who died in WW2.
Fascists who march through Dresden each year claim that the carpet bombing of the city in 1945 was a 'war crime'. This year they have seized on the plans to build a monument in Hyde Park to vent their hatred.

The radical right, in opposing the monument, are hoping to tap into the mainstream discontent over the proposed memorial shared by most city residents."

Get some old Lancaster bombers up and flying over head to drown their noise out! That would be awesome!

It's sad that this is happening while people are fighting for democracy in Cairo.

I'd honestly be surprised if today's crop of Neo-Nazis could even articulate what the Warsaw Ghetto was. Neo-Nazis are attention whores. They are not actual Nazis. They couldn't articulate the first thing about National Socialism because they don't know because they don't have to. Folks get riled up just seeing those uniforms, even seventy years later. This fact has long since dispensed with the need for Neo-Nazis to have any actual ideas in their head, aside from the thirst for controversy and attention.

Stalin would approve at the re-writing of history!

What selective memories those people have.

What happened in 1945 was based on factors in place in 1945, not 2010.

Stalin & Churchill agreed to the raids, then ran for cover later, leaving Arthur Harris and his crews hanging out to dry, Churchill's most shameful moment.

50,000 lads died in Bomber Command and it's a bigger sin that it's taken this long for a memorial. Time has taken it's toll of those guys, so very few will be around to see it built.

US 8th Air Force & Bomber Command did what had to be done.

I feel sorry for the German civvies but they fought to the bitter end, well past the point of hopelesness. If the good citizens of Dresden will be upset by a memorial in London, don't bloody well visit London then!!

Danke mi amigo. Also, I had a funny one involving the Polizei. I was at Frankfurt am Main Airport waiting for my flight back here. Well, ill skip most of the details as it would take too long to type but, I was looking for souvenirs to get, had a spot of trouble with a trouble-making person from the middleeast, and he almost walked into a linf of about 10 or more German Soldiers standing in the airport, and when the middleeastern guy almost ran into one of the soldiers carrying SMGs, he quickly got wide-eyed and turned away from them. I thought it was GREAT to see one tall soldier grinning at the guy and was tapping the stock of his submachinegun. I walked up to the soldiers and spent some time chatting with them. They as well as I knew-that I had been "marked" by that guy and that guy apparently was trying to start somekind of trouble. This was the day after the USS Cole was hit by a speedboat filled with explosives. Those German Soldiers were at the airport to see to it no troubles happened.

Anyway, they said they had seen that the guy was trying to follow me around and had been watching him, and I said I knew the guy was shadowing me and they asked me what I would have done had that guy tried soemthing? I pointed to my leather carry on bag and said I had 5 large bier steins in it and said I would have bashed him in the face with it had he tried soemthing? Anyway, I then explained that I was working for the State of Texas as a Correctional Officer at that time.

I would have gone into more detail on this story but I had been told--the last time I posted all details, that I wasnt believed=to which I said in other words of course, that I was there and HE was not there and I know what I went through and HE did not.
