I got to speaking to a friend about the research I am doing on my Grandfather at work today. I got to telling him all the cool things I am learning online about my Grandfather, and he mentioned to me that in his Dads WWII items there is a patch that he cannot figure out what it represents. So I told him I would post it here and see what we could learn. I told him how knowledgeable the people on this board were and he wasnt sure how to get the picture on the message board so I am doing him a favor. Fire away....

Obviously this patch is home made. I think it was probably made in by someone in France, associated or affiliated with the Free French movement as indicated by the blue Cross of Lorraine at the bottom. The flags of the US, France, Britain and the Soviet Union represents the major players in the struggle against Nazi Germany. To me, it was a homage to those countries in the fight to liberate Europe. I could be wrong though.

I agree, Bobby. It does not look like an authorized patch.

Nicely done for homemade, but it seems reasonable.
