several years ago, i began to informally record some of my father's experiences as a u.s. marine in wwII. i eventually decided, for the sake of his future descendants, to compile as many of his recollections as possible, while he was still around to share those stories. after three years of writing dad's story, researching, and designing, i completed a book that chronicles his 8 marine corp service (Always a Marine | By Clyde Adams | Category: Biographies & Memoirs | Blurb). sad to say, he passed away about 6 months before i completed it. but there are more details i'd like to fill in. that's why i've joined the ww2 forum. dad served as a paratrooper in the solomons and, after they were disbanded, he trained and fought with the 5th division an iwo. i especially would like to learn more of the choiseul diversion, of which he participated.
Nice to meet you Clyde and welcome aboard! Great job writing that book. I'm sure your father is very pround of you, as you are of him.
