WW2Talk Server Downtime

The time here in the UK is 06:44 am, having put all our clocks forward 1 hr for what we laughingly call Summer Time.

Ww2talk went offline at 14:30 on Friday afternoon and I am still waiting for it to re-open.

Yes......I know that everyone is trying to re-instate us as soon as possible, but the danger is that I will get fed up waiting and move myself permanently to ww2f and that wouldn't be much joy for you, would it ?

Please ww2talk, let us get back to normal SAP before this old git in Cockfosters gets tired of waiting

What an impatient lot.
Imagine we're a group that meets at the local village hall .
It's a bit old & delapidated & needs a new roof , re-wiring & a lick of paint.
That wouldnt get done overnight & the meetings might take place at another location for awhile.

But because it's the internet , people expect it to be done instantly.
I'm quite enjoying the break & visiting somewhere different.

Maybe as ww2t got so busy & poplar there might be rather alot of info to transfer.

Cause of Damage: H.E. hit and premature (?) [sic]

Fire Damage: None

Circumstances: Not Known

Position of Hit & Effect of Projectile: a) H.E. damage to right idler; b ) 17-pounder barrel split horizontally from about a foot from the mantlet to the end of the barrel. The top half of the barrel and muzzle brake were missing. No obvious internal damage.

Remarks: Tank seen. No information from Regiment.

Fate of Crew: Presumed unhurt since all casualties in the Regiment were accounted for.

 

Don't worry about down time.....if they are just twitching a little that is no problem......now if their twitch turns into an underside fully clinched pucker and they report that.......you might show a little concern in a week or two.

 

Guys I feel your pain. Our switch was supposed to take a "Day" but was closer to 3 and felt like a week. Don't fret, soon you will be back and complaining for a month "How come my.....Doesn't work like it did before?"

It has driven Otto into his Secret Undisclosed.Security Bunker. (oh he claims he visiting his parents and getting back surgery, but thats for the press release)

 

It's amazing what village committees can achieve these days!

 

Missing WW2t badly, so until its back with us, I thought I would try talking to the wife, that's not working either. :lol: :lol:

It is now 3 long days since ww2talk was up and running.

Despite the fact that I'm pleased to find any port in a storm and equally glad to catch up with old friends who post on this site, I'm getting a tad cheesed off with the absence of familiar threads.

Hi Ron, it's surprising how familiar a place (even on the Internet) becomes isn't it? I keep on checking to see if its back yet too.

 

I've lost count how many times I've checked to see if the UK end is back online. As the saying goes "A watched kettle never boils". All I can say, is that I'm dying for that proverbial cuppa.
