Apologies as this post is slightly after WW2.
I'm really interested in finding out more about Alec Clifford who died in 1947 and is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel. He died in December 1947, clearly a victim of the fighting in Palestine between those seeking to establish a Jewish state, and the force of British soldiers policing the area.
I'd be fascinated if anyone can tell me more about evens in December 1947, particularly with reference to Alec Clifford, and to his unit. Thanks, Rob

    Alec Clifford
    14102614, Private
1st Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders
    Died 2nd December 1947
    Buried Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel
