    Ok. We know Larry Thorne became one of our greatest Special Forces soldiers. I've heard stories of Fallschirmager soldiers coming over to train some of our soldiers after the war. One in particular remained and lived in Texas for the remainder of his life. Any other stories surrounding former German soldiers joining the American ranks?

    I know stories of lots of German soldiers joining the US Army. The most of them where with the 10th Special Forces Group at Bad Tölz. There were ex Paratroopers but also some Waffen SS Members too.

    My understanding is they were outstanding soldiers.
