You got any stories about him? Any pics you care to share? I'd really like to see them.

I really liked your post. I wish my uncle or grandfather were alive when I was little to ask questions.

Check out this website: 487th Bomb Group (H) Association At the bottom of the page, there's a tiny link: Lee which will put you in touch with Lee Hauenstein, site webmaster. He will be able to provide you with the details of the 6/7/44 mission that I read in the book. The book is titled "The History of the 487th Bomb Group (H)" but is currently out of print. A second book is "Photo History of the 487th Bomb Group (H)" which is still available at the website. I didn't find any photos, in either book, of the planes or crews other than what you've posted. Also tried a used book source for the history but had no luck. Lee may have some ideas if you want a copy. Site also has links to both the 487th Yahoo and ArmyAirForces discussion groups. Spend some time there, it's full of info.
