    Hello,
This is a picture of my father Arthur Ballou and his brother Edward standing in front of Ed's P-47 fighter at an airbase in Germany at the end of the war. I am trying to find Edward Ballou's unit and squadron. No squadron markings are visible on the aircraft in the photo. Any ideas?
Thanks, Dan Ballou View attachment 15239

Iam the widow of a P47 ace from the 9th airforce, 10th fighter squadron, 50th fighter group. His name was Robert E Jones. He shot down 6 ME109's plus his flight shot down a flight of Swiss ME109's. (email me if u want to hear about the so called Swiss neutrality) does anyone remember Bob?. His P47 was called Kaweah Kutie. the art work was an Indian Maiden (pretty provacative) in a head dress of Raven (crow) feathers. I wish we had gone on line before Bob died. he would have loved to talk to other P47 pilots. my Email is annej@theworks.com. I'd love to hear from any or all. thks.""

They often shared aircraft so this might be a good place to start. Possibly a different Squadron but I'm betting on the same 50th Fighter Group. I'll keep looking around and good luck!

thanks Biak. Maybe I just always assumed that this was Ed's aircraft, when in fact maybe they just happened to be standing next to that one. In any case I sent the picture and a note to the writer of the post you cited. That is a pretty good indication of his unit though. I'll let you know if I hear back from Robert Jones widow.
