    Just introducing myself quickly. I'm Black Shuck from Norfolk, only just joined up with an interest especially in the USAAF Airfields in Norfolk and East Anglia. Home Guard Pillboxes and Civil Defence. I am from Great Yarmouth so live at the eastern gateway to the Norfolk Broads and a myriad of Pillboxes, Spgiot Mortar Bases etc and Tank Defenses. But for now a big hello from East Anglia.

    Welcome to the forum.

    I was in your "neck of the woods" late last year and as you mention, there are lots of pillboxes and old airfields scattered about that part of the country.

    I'm hoping to get back there in a few months time for a more in-depth exploration of the airfields.

    G'day Black Shuck (Whats that mean?) Is it still worth trolling around with a metal detector in those parts or has it long been picked clean?
