Beautiful scenery Ulrich, thanks for the sharing with the rest of us, very similar to the western third of Montana.

Well guys I am glad to say I have been blessed to see 2 of the most beautiful places on earth, Montana AND Bavaria.

Clint, I have fished Yellowstone MANY times and loved it. Heck you can cast a line right there in Livingston !! After a good day of fishing we always headed to the Stockmans Steakhouse and had laughs with the locals. I've been to the Marlboro Ranch north of Livingston about 6 times and have so many good memories !!

As a snot nosed kid of 16, I was able to work in the 1972 Olympics in Munich (Munchen)..... We took a 3 day side trip to Innsbruck, Austria and Garmish-Partenkirchen, in Bavaria. We rented bikes and explored the amazing Schwartz Wald. (Black Forrest)

Ulrich, I have some photos of our visit to the Zugspitzen. We took a gondola ride to the top of the glacier and there was a bronze cross with bullet holes and a monument next to the cross. I would love to see any videos of Garmisch you may find. If I remember, it was the site of the 1936 Winter Olympics. I also remember seeing the most incredible lake I have ever seen. It was a deep emerald lake visable from our gondola.

Ulrich and Clint live in heaven. I'm just glad to say I was able to visit !!

Glad you enjoyed the videos from both Ulrich and me Steve and thanks for the like, I don't fish much anymore since I lost use of my left arm and right wrist; fly casting is out and I detest bait fishing for the most part. I still do a bit of lure casting, but not much unless I am at my old place in Hobson where we have two spring fed ponds stocked with rainbows. But even that has been two years ago.

    Many Thanks Ulrich !!

I have just spent the last hour looking at videos of Garmisch and Der Zugspitze . It is exactly how I remembered it from 40 years ago. Those broken moutain peaks of the Alps, the gondolas and that beautiful Lake Eibsee. The lunch we had on top of the Zugspitze at the Muchener Haus...

It really took me back in time...

Just as an aside, today (literally) I found out that Montana finally has one million citizens. We have been under that number for decades, and while it won't really change much in our number of representatives in the Congress (we dropped from two to one years ago), it is kind of cool to know that our state has less members than many cities worldwide.

We are the size (acres/ hectacres) of Germany proper, and only harbor those million (?) citizens, we don't count those mega buck people who come here and buy land but don't live here or vote here. They are "outsiders".

Clint from what I heard the fine people of Bozeman, Montana are up in arms about all the folks from California buying up property in and around their town. They are forcing their polictical ways there and the locals are now calling it Boz Angeles !!

Thanks Clint! Mountains, Horses and Cowboy hats, it doesn't get much better than that.
Here's a shot from where I grew up. Corn and Soybeans, flatland, green, more corn and more flat. No video but if you blink real fast and move your head side to side you get the same effect. If we hadn't moved to the "Lake" we'd be living somewhere in the foothills of the Rocky's! Amazing country.

Great scenery, and the Kleffner Farm was really impressive. I hope I'll get a chance to go over there and visit your great country before I die.
Thanx for providing the video, Clint!
