If we could just conduct civil campaigns there would be less rancor. But, of course, as long as humans are doing the campaigning, we're not got to rise about the hog waller.

I once offered a free steak meal and bottle of choice to any soldier passing through Central Illinois whilst corresponding with a few serving in Iraq & Afghanistan. It was a privilege when one such Soldier emailed that he would be doing just that a month or so after his return. Seven years ago he became my Son I never had. Okay maybe my younger brother I never had, he's not That much younger than myself!
I hope to one day visit the AFHRA at Maxwell AFB so if/when that happens maybe I can lift a glass with yourself and USMCPrice during the trip.

Ya got me thinking with that Jindal thing. Check this site; 2016 Republican Presidential Odds | Election News for US President in 2016 for possible 2016 candidates.
We're in trouble! Palin is 9-1 (third place) Jindal is 30-1 (tied for 14th)
Clinton is leading the Dem's. and that ain't Bill either!

Most interesting is Romney is at 45-1 and the 'odds' were put in March of this year. Guess they didn't give him much chance now or then.

I don't even want to think about it. BUT.
If Hillary runs (and she says she won't - ha!) and could get Colin Powell as Vice Pres. ? Not that I'd be inclined that way, just wondering.
No sense getting into that anyway. The World ends in 41 days.

As you all know...I don't do politics...what??? What did I say that's funny....But Hail to the chief...How much did it cost to get the same guy in again?

Why dont you just hold all elections in your swing states and give the rest a rest...then again we could do same in our marginals as in reality they are all that matters in voting em in of any colour..and I mean political colour not creed...Few thousand voters pick both our leaders. Strange this democracy thing

The fun of battling it out to the wire is worth the hassle. I'm saving videos of Republican predictions about the demise of the country, like old Chuck the Neanderthal's "Thousand Years of Darkness" video to feed to them in four years. (By which time they will have forgotten Romney as well as Bush.)

Forget the election, more important - How are ya Urgh? okay enough nice-nice. The "Swing State" theory is just another ploy for the pundits and Party leaders to draw attention to. The hours and days and weeks of being explained to how, Iowa or Ohio or New Hampshire or Take Your Pick State has never been wrong in the last X number of elections diverts our attention from the inane candidate who is not telling us what They would do, rather what the opposition did or didn't do. It's so much more fun for those running for Office to Tattle-Tale on The Other Guy. Even though most of whats said is BS. Actually not even BS but out and out Lies and deliberate misleading fables. uh where was I going with this? never mind. The World ends in 40 days anyway.

Second time around, if Mr. Obama doesn't deliver the promised 'change', there are going to be a lot of very pissed off voters. Failure may well mean it could be a long time before we see another black president.

Similar things happen in Australia with local Aborigines. At first, their attitude to black candidates was "Oh! These people couldn't possibly be as corrupt as you white trash." Time saw the essential untruth of this assumption. Their reaction was plain for all to see, as one Aboriginal politician after another revealed themselves to be just as corrupt, just as self serving, and just as pigheaded and arrogant as the rest of them, maybe more so, for this new class of Aborigines began to feel that they were somehow superior to the rest of the black community.

It was sort of like the smugness that the "Cosby Show" conveyed, trying to create the impression that all urban colored people were from families with two large incomes.

The backlash was plain for all to see, and the same thing will happen to black politicians in America.....IF Obama fails to deliver.
