If Oswald was a "Lone Nut", this would have become self evicent in any courtroom he was sent to.

And Jack rubenstein rubbing him out to "Spare Jackie Kennedy a trial" was the biggest load of tripe imaginable. If Oswald was such an undeniably guilty man, the state of Texas would have put him to death, rather than 'arranging' for Rubenstein to save the nation tedious paperwork and explainations.

If Oswald had been allowed to trial....thats the greatest What If of the entire story. And when you eliminate that right, you raise questions, from people who are going to ask them as their right.

Lee Harvey Oswald should be receiving a Presidential Pardon, and a medal for his service to the nation's intelligence community and for his service to the country as a soldier. End of Story. the fact that you deny this patriot his day in court is an indiator of his innosence of the charges levelled, not his guilt.

And what the bloody hell happened to "Innocent until proven guilty?"

No day in court is an automatic "not Guilty" verdict, regardless of his guilt or innosence. It was that right which people stand up for. If in doing so they expose other things, well, thats a product of the original error in not allowing him his day in court.

VB,why do you hold to the theory that a automatic was used on Tibbit, when the revolver LHO was apprehended with is tied, both bullet ballistics and firing pin marks to the four bullets in Tibbets body and the shell casings found at the murder scene? You never proved "me" wrong, you expressed an unsourced opinion. Probably from that crackpot Garrison. Read a decent book on the subject, like Case Closed by Posner. Here is a link to the weapon used at the Tibbit scene, and witnesses of same.

The original evidence summary one the day of tippit's murder did not include shell casings. It took six days for them to 'discover'them, and for them to appear in summaries.

Transcripts of other officers at the scene reveal them finding "automatic shell casing with ejector marks" and describing the weapon used as a .38 automatic pistol, something Oswald had never used, and did not have at Texas theatre.

Officers transcripts also describe a man fleeing the scene as "Short and stocky"...(not Oswald), and another man with "Black wavy hair"...neither of which fit Oswalds description.

Four bullets found in tippits body were from two different weapons. Three Winchester bullets and one Remington.

All add up to the Dallas police department telling porkies......If Oswald was in a courtroom for the tippit case, chances are the trail would not have gotten past the commital hearing, so flimsy is the evidence. the Warren Commission was not a court, and questioning of it's witnesses in the manner described means their evidence would have been inadmissable...you can't ask "leading" questions in a courtroom, but that is what happened at the Commission.

So, LHO is innocent until proven guilty, but Big Government, CIA, FBI, KGB, EIEIO, etc., are guilty until proven innocent?

I/m done with this thread, reading that wacko Jim Garrison, or basing a theory on Oliver Stone's JFK fiction isn't worth the effort. Nothing in JFK was even close to true, and even Stone admits that. He is an entertainer, not historian. His target was to sell tickets, not educate. He accomplished both. Kevin Costner made a great character out of Garrison, too bad the character didn't reflect the man himself.

    I quit.

And me not having the entire twenty something volumes of the Warren commission on my shelves is no big deal.

Garrison himself said of it..."I can't believe that a man as intelligent as Earl Warren ever read what was in those volumes..."

And lets not insult Garrison either.

According to the social niceties of this website, he's a man who should be getting our respect, and "Thankyou for your service". Ex-Serviceman and their opinions seem to count for more here....except if you are Jim Garrison....or Lee Harvey Oswald....

You guys carry on like my wife. She tends to take the conservative line on most issues, mostly for the fact that it's the line of least resistence.

I took the conservative line with Pearl Harbor because the evidence points to no conspiracy...

I took the same government line with those 9/11 Truther twats....even giving them two big lies from "Loose Change" to chew on, as well as a perfectly beleivable explaination as to why somebody would make a documentary like "loose change'.

No, I thought, that with my record of reasoning, that debate on this issue would be a strict exchange of information. All you guys can do is tow the same old "Lone Nut theory", something people of the likes of garrison and Mark Lane have debunked for many a good year. Mark Lane was talking to Lee's mother, who stated quite clearly, "My Lee was working for the government! Check that out, Mr. Lane, you'll see!" He did, and he was.

Lone Nuts do not have millionaire freinds, nor do committed Communists move in White Russian social circles.

I will only quit trying to change the mind of one who is committed to being wrong at every turn, and standing by his errors. That is respectable, and Garrison was discharged for mental instability, not an honorable way out. LHO served his time, but poorly it seems and he didn't have a "top secret" clearance, he had the lowest rate, "confidential" which allowed him to see some limited documents. Of course before he left his temp. time in Japan he had caught VD and was transferred to the Philippines. He was a loner, a looser, with an over developed sense of his own greatness. Don't defend that piece of crap either. And please don't put Garrison the mental case, and LHO the looser in the same category as others who served honorably and honestly.

You know, we have no obligation to debunk, over and over again, any conspiracy theory.

    OK...think of this then.

When I was talking of this subject to freinds from Argentina, (who now live in Sydney), they were non-plussed, and could not understand all the fuss that we westerners make of the Kennedy/Oswald merry-go-round.

Their reaction was worth recording. they looked straight at me, and said "So what? What if it was a government job? Big deal! That sort of thing goes on in our country all the time!"

VB, here is a link to the entire Warren Report, if you care to read it. BTW, both Garrison and LHO were discharged for questionable actions. LHO specifically, while Garrison's discharge from the Guards was for psychotic behavior.

Hate to burst your bubble, but veterans affairs are full of nuts, and loners. It's the nature of the beast.

And if you think people like Jack Ruby were patriots, think again. Ruby and his mob connections are well known, and you cant convince me that the mafia is a good and grand institution of the united states that serves the country for it's betterment. At least the CIA have the protection of American citizens as their primary goal, even if they do have to murder a few people to get that job done.

The FBI are likewise out for the good of the country.

So was Garrison. Oswald was a volunteer, married a servicemen's daughter. Both men served the nation, and if both had their way, America might have been a very different place.

but thats the mission of most conservatives. Make sure that change happens gradually, rather than in a rush.

Garrison....WW2 combat vet, lawyer from family of impecable standing, National guardsman for many years, patriot and American hero....

Oswald....Intelligent service operative, government agent, serving soldier, martyr in the cause of national security, American hero....

Opana, the least you could do is debunk. If only for the brownie points you will naturally receive from it. I'm perfectly willing to have my mind swayed, but you've got to hit me with logic, not simply denial based on anything.

So far, my criticisms of the warren commission are not new, and have been around for as long time, principally because the explainations for the absense of them do not exist yet.

We all may have to wait for the agency to release it's Oswald documentation, so we can find out for sure just what sort of threat the government feels this man represented.

But, as ive said earlier, the principal reason why this is still debated is not ignorance. It's because everybody swept it under the carpet at the time, putting it into the 'too hard' basket, and leaving poor slobs like us to sort out the mess when all the actors in the drama are dead, or forgotten, or just plain irellevant.

Had the Warren commission done the job that the people set it to, we would not be here. But, the Warren Report is universally acknowledged to be FICTION, so we must still look to the house Select committee on Assassinations, and people like Garrison, for answers to questions that should have been cleared up many years ago. If they were, we might be talking about the latest WW2 news, rather than this government excuse to treat us all like little children who cannot be told anything unsavoury for our own 'protection'.
