    Interesting article. It's of particular note that it had a second life. Thanks for finding it. I hope you or someone else will follow up on it.

    Don't worry KB....i'm not really an aircraft guy and I was in the RAF....just know em cos they were plastered on all the walls everywhere....I much prefer boats...But thats a good find...

    I'll keep my eye on the local papers and keep the board current on any developments. My son is going to the university up there in Fairbanks and I'll ask him to get some pictures if it's near a road. I suspect it isn't near a road though, or it would have been hauled off by some enterprising local for scrap long ago.

    Looks like they have their work cut out for them. I don't know much about restoration efforts, but is there enough for them to work with there?

    Considering what its been through, it appears that the wreck is in good condition.

    Judging from that picture, although the sheet metal has rotted off, the important structure itself remains in good shape.

    Even if it just ends up as a mock-up at an aviation museum, it's good news.

    That's good news. I hate to see items like that go to waste. It's not like they are making those things anymore.
