Good afternoon one and all...I`ve been sitting and reading for a few weeks now, and decided it`s time to register and join in...so...

My name is Neil, my membership name hopefully is understandable, I`m an aviation artist who specialises in World War II as the subject mater. I`ve only been doing so since 2004 mind you, but have had a major interest in W.W II for many years.

I`m in my 40`s now and have relatives who worked in the weapons arsenals in London and the South East during W.W II. Sadly a lot of these relatives have passed on...

I`m a UK chap, I was born in South East London/Kent and moved out into the sticks when I was fairly young, we`ve recently moved to Essex, with the majority of the relatives still based in South East London.

My interests are in W.W II as mentioned above, in particular the aerial battles like the "Battle of France", "Battle of Britain" and the naval fights and the like. I`m a major aviation nut and thoroughly enjoy learning about new things (recently I`ve read up a lot about the North Atlantic convoys and the like), I get a major kick out of research for the artwork I produce and it gives me a sense of understanding the missions and people that fought (recently, that has included a commission of B-17F "All American" for a friend, after doing bucket loads of research, I ended up making contact with a relative of the crew and gained loads of information about her father and the like).

Hobby wise, well I suppose aviation art and art is one...but the other major one is that I help out at a collection in the UK with tours and the like of the aircraft (some of which are the worlds oldest originals).

Anyway, that`s enough of my waffling...I`m looking forward to chatting and gaining more information on most theatres of the Second World War.

    Regards, Neil

Welcome, Neil, good to have you join us. Do you have any of you work you would like to show us?

Another member, Ulithi, also paints, but is mostly the US Navy in the PTO. Give him a holler,
