www.tollehausbooks.com check Gregs line of new arrivals. quite an array of interesting titles and I see that the book Hill 112 has been reprinted........hmmmmmmm a teaser for my Christmas list(s) E ~
I added that site to my favorites list. I may buy the book about the Arado Ar 232. I have always liked the neglected aircraft types. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks for tyhe link Erich. I have Hill 112 somewhere in my collection, i'd deffinatly add it to your xmas list. By the way, i've been out of the loop for a while, whats the news on that book of yours.
hey guys ! yeah Gregg is a pretty neat guy and his prices are hard to beat; think he does ship globally but you should double check by e-mail. We have taken the summer off due to our author being mauled by a dog and having young children at home that he needs to watch as he heals up. I am going in the stong direction of finding sources on the night control center(s) that were deiscussed by the luftw. vets during their night missions in 44-45 and finding some very interesting tidbits. come September we are going to blast off on this thing and try to finish it up........... thanks for asking Bish E ~
Very interesting to see that Major How's Hill 112 book is to be reprinted - the original is very scarce indeed. ( BTW, hello Bish ! )
Hiya Martin. When was the original published, i've had mine for 15 years at least, but don't have access to it at the moment.
Bish, the original book ( 'Hill 112 - Cornerstone Of The Normandy Campaign' ) was published by William Kimber in 1984. It had a photo of a knocked-out 17-Pr A/T and tractor on the cover.
Do you mean the ones published by 'After The Battle' ? If so, I have the Dams, Villers-Bocage and Bulge titles. Very good they are too, from the point of view of content. But the 'landscape' format is a bit odd ; take them on a battlefield tour and the weight of the pages soon makes them fall apart....
Yes,that's the ones. Not sure what you mean by the"landscape format"...ahh,you may be surprised that I'm not the most well-read member here.
Instead of being 'tall' they're sort of 'long' ( from left to right ). They're printed on good quality, heavy paper but the weight strains the binding after a while.
Well, i'll have to dig my out. I think mine has that on the front cover, and if i didn't get it in 84, it wouldn't have been to many years after that.
