Where are these men now as we need them today? I can clearly see that any "atrocities" comitted by few members of the Waffen SS at certain times, could have been justifiable. We could well have lost well over 40,000 killed in the cowardly attacks today. Statisticalwise, worse than Pearl Harbor. Just imagine if those people there were relatives and friends of yours, MURDERED for nothing. I think you would tend to agree with me in saying that what the Waffen SS did on some occasions, to me were completely justified. Russians murdering German officers when captured. Partisans throwing a grenade into a croud of Germans at a Kiosk, a sentry found with a Columbian Necktie. A soldier found with his manhood cutoff and stuffed down his throat. All for what?, the war effort--I think NOT, as it had NOTHING to do with winning or losing the war. As the Holy Bible says: "An Eye For An Eye", and I totally believe in what the Holy Bible says. Everyone, be safe and take care.
I agree with you wholehearthly. What I can't stand is that every one thinks that U.S. soldiers never did anything wrong in the war. They executed prisoners too and I am horribly upset about what has happened today. I hope to god they find whoever did this and make them pay.
I'm sorry, but i cannot agree. i will defend the Waffern SS to the hilt, but there is never an excuse for commiting atrocities. If the enemy does it, you hunt down the guilty party. But simply doing the same as them in revenge makes you just as bad. Hunt down those that did this today, and then tear them to pieces. And hopefully, the next time an American is thinking about putting cash into the coffers of a terrorist group, they may just stop and remember today, and put that cash to something better
Thank you PzGdr, and thank you Bish. Let me make sure this is said clearly. No I do not believe that atrocities should be comitted, I simply said in more words, that the Holy Bible says: "An Eye For An Eye". This means that according to the Holy Scripture, that an eye for an eye basically means giving back some of what we recieved. Nobody has ever said that new atrocities should be comitted, simply that we do NEED to pay them back some of what they sent our way. Now, my references to do with the Waffen SS and the S.D. are that we need men and leaders like they had who werent afraid of "getting the job done" by whatever means available. Noone is screaming for needless violence but I as an American are saying that these sick cowardly pricks, NEED to be punished--the Bible also admitts that is so. Im no expert at what the Bible says and I am ashamed for that but, I do know that a victim has been given the right for satisfaction---according to the Holy Scriptures. My apoligise if I have offended you with my explanation. Take care.
A Spanish newspaper has reported that the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) which is backed by Saddam Hussien, has claimed resonsibility Kill 'em all and let Allah sort 'em out!
I agree with you brother ! Bin Laden could of easily helped finance Suddam. Actually Suddam and his country is quite wealthy and could easily have done all of this. Remember him stating that he would seek revenge against the great satan(USA) right after Desert Storm/Shield. Also his Air Force was not totally defeated so there were and are many pilots seeking total bliss with alah in performing such a feat.......crap ! E.
If it wouldnt spread beyond the countries borders, I would say we should nuke them back to the stone ages and turn their count=ry into the worlds biggest parking lot.
I must admit, my twisted evil mind actually had an image of what a few waffen SS divisions could do to those people dancing in the streets when they heard the news...... I agree that atrocities are horrible, but they sure are effective! War is a horrible, inhumane, gory, and unpleasant thing. But I'm all ears for a successful deterrent in keeping this from happening again. For more, please see our off topic discussion. p.s. - Carl, I heard that there were approx. 50,000 people in the WTC alone. And that isn't even talking about the Pentagon or those lost in the airliners.......
Last reports i heard was that 40,000 per building were evacuated. No one has been specifying any more numbers but Guiliani mayor of the city is saying the toll could EASILY be in the thousands. Rescue units were also hit hard for as people were evacuating before the colapse...rescuers were going up to help people and fight fires. Last reports i heard was that 230 or more fireman/police/paramedics were killed in the collapses. But i am afraid of what the final count for the towers will be Also Ontop of this whole mess reports for the Pentagon say 800 or more were killed in their attack. This is truly grave I hope we find the RIGHT people responsible...and make them pay DEARLY..... [ 12 September 2001: Message edited by: Ron ]
A giant glass parking lot that lights itself, at night. I think this calls for a Cobalt jacketed dirty bomb. Did anyone ever play that game by Flying Buffalo called "Nuclear Strike or Nuclear Exchange"? The dirty bomb.
People what are you saying? Why should revenge by killing millions of people with nucliar weapons be the answer? After such a terrible day, why should we lower ourselves to their level by also killing innocent people? Timo
Timo : This is total frustration to say the least. There are survivors thank GOD ! Few, but there are some. I rejoice in this. As to the actions of whomever, we as Americans can easily put a few names down on our wish list, but we must let our government decide who and when the punishement will be let out. I know this sounds cruel, but it really does look like the time to talk at the tables is unfortunately over.......at also look at the country of Israel over the many years, since 1967 when things really heated up again, talk, talk, talk, and more and more killing......it will never stop until...... E
Sorry C if i misunderstood, yes, this does call for men that are not afraid to act. But those actions should be against those that did this. I have heard many calls for targeting the backers of these terrorists as well as the terrorists themselves. Well, just think what you are saying. I am a Brit, from a country that has had to deal with terrorisim for 30 years. Not only that, i am a soldier. I have spent 4 and a half years on the streets of N Ireland, looking at terrorists every day. Terrorists who are funded and supported by a section of the American population. So, if you do plan on attacking the backers of terrorists, perhaps your first bomb should be aimed at Boston, or which ever city has the largest group of Irish Americans.
Thanks fellas. Timo, I didnt mean that we should actually use nukes and really doubt they were ever even thought of as a possible way to retaliate. What I menat by my statement was that the terrorism will NEVER stop--untill we permanently stop them--one way or another. Unfortunately, it will cost more lives. There is nothing we can do to pervent that from happening. I really do feel for other countries who have terroristic problems. As Bish stated that he was actually there and that it has sadly been a part of life in England for 30 years. (By the way, you didnt misunderstand, I just wasnt clear enough in my wording ). Germany has had its fair share of terrorism--remember in 1972 Munich, where what, 13 members of the Israili team were cowardly murdered. England has had more than its fair share of bombings and im sure are very tired of them as we are here. We finally have a President that has a backbone and I believe he will reply in kind. Bish, I do feel sorry for you and the people in the U.K. for having to deal with the cowardly IRA, I hope they are defeated soon. This all goes back to what I said to start this topic with reference to seeing your comrades throats slit--stabbed in their backs--just plain murdered for no reason other than that it is a cowardly terroristic act. Something I keep hearing reported in the news is that these so-called "men" attacked female Stewardesses and stabbed them to death--oh these ARE real tough men--killing women. How tough can they possibly be? Personally, if I ever had the chance to be left in a room alone with one of them, I would rip him apart barehanded--or to the best of my ability. These pricks DO NOT dererve a trial, they should be summarily executed. Look at what the Germans did to the 20th of July plotters...... estimated at 5,000 executed. We need to send a message that they will never forget. Look at what we did to the Japanese... and they are still well-behaved. Isreal, England, German, Russia and the United States are very sick and tired of this stab-in-the-back-crap, I know we here are and also everywhere else. Take Care.

Essentially, what you're saying here is that you're outraged by a particular government or group and in response you are willing to kill anyone and/or everyone in that entire country, whether or not they had anything to do with the offense. That's probably pretty close to the same thinking that motivated the attacks in the first place. I know that's not where you're really coming from CE; I'm just saying let's watch ourselves. Punish the guilty, yes, but also let's remember what makes us different than the terrorists: we care about what happens to the innocent bystanders. They don't.
Dear Alath, thanks and the reminder is also needed--well said. Fortunately today, I am thinking much more clearly than since Terrible Tuesday, the new day of infamy. I have recieved mail from all over the world expressing their regrets and sadness. To date I have recieved close to 100 mails. This proves to me, that mankind is not decadent like the doomsdayers are always spouting. The vast majority of the world is behind America on this and as I mentioned before, the Holy Bible says: "An Eye For An Eye" If im not way off base in my translation of what the Bible has down in words, it says that this is EXPECTED to have retribution and god will be on our side. I believe that the leaders in charge will act responsible enough to do what needs to be done. I for one am very grateful for all the support we are getting from all these countries. We WILL win this thing, but unfortunately, it will cost more lives and there is nothing we can do about that. Its gone way past being too late to settle this without a firefight. A popular term for them is Sand Ni**er. I hate the term as I am not a person with many prejudices. I do believe that they will be paid back, and in spades. No one will be completely safe, if this shit is not stopped and stopped now. Apparently they have not learned from the past, where we had to go in there and kick butt. Heck, hussein and mohmar and arafat, are all condeming these attacks, but I do not believe a word from their mouths. I do believe that they are all trying to cover their asses, by saying they regret what happened because they know that they could be in the line of fire if they step out of line. I posted this a few times elsewhere but to sort of quote Admiral Yamamoto, after the attack on Pearl Harbor: "I fear we have filled America with a great resolve. All we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant" or words to that effect. Yamamoto may have been our enemy, but I have respect for him because he did not approve of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a brillient man who I think even attended Harvard College and I have heard that he played football. The man "knew" that Japan sealed its fate by the sneak attack. This is just as hussein and mohmar q, and arafat, knows only too well that their fates could be sealed because of this tragedy.
Carl : Notice that today the mid-east nations hiding terrorist's have backed way off giving condolances to US Ami's, because they know that there is the very strong possibility that they may indeed not see a new day on this Earth in the very near future. There is no way that terrorism will ever be stopped while there is still good and evil present on this Earth. And until the Great Lord will be coming back, we people must deal with it the best way we can........ E
Looks like an incursion into Afghanistan by US forces is called for, most likely several elite units supported by helo's and attack aircraft, will be necessary. If anyone remembers the Soviet Unions experience in this region, these operations could be touch and go. Bin Laden has many lairs and moves frequently, couple this with our lack of HUMINT in his organization and the conclusion is, it may require dozens of operations to finally kill/capture this madman. This means months in country, most likely on firebases in Pakistan, conducting raids over the border. We will have to endorse a human rights violating, nuclear bomb building dictator to obtain these bases inside Pakistan most likely. We may be looking at 2,000 KIA X 2 wounded, will we spend these men?
