Interesting article on NPR this morning. They were talking to a Cruz supporter and mentioned how the polls were showing 64% of Americans didn't like Trump and that the numbers for Cruz weren't much better. The supporter replied that the current campaign was likely to see both of the parties presidential candidates with more Americans being opposed to them than supporting them a rather unusual situation. It does suggest that both parties are loosing touch with the people.

I appreciate the US Presidential election and the UK General election are different, but over here there is always a majority voting against the party that wins. I suppose that is why our Government is always so unpopular.

If that were the extent of it I doubt there would be much of a controversy. Although since a tomato isn't likely to injure a person wan restraining someone who is trying to throw one isn't likely to result in a lawsuit this doesn't seem to cover what's actually happening. Assaulting someone who is already leaving is definitely over the edge especially when she didn't even attempt to throw anything. Saying he'll cover the court/settlement costs certainly implies rather more violent action on the part of his followers as well. I've also yet to see him offer any apologies or request to desist such actions or the threats and name calling his followers have offered to his opponents either. Of course given his track record his followers should be very leery of him actually coming up with any cash to support them in court especially if it doesn't come to trial until after the election.

There are legitimate reasons for opposing immigration. Doing so based on ethnicity or religion don't fit in that group. That's prejudice or bias of the worst sort and not any where near "common sense". Is it hate or just cynical manipulation of the prejudices of his supporters. Does it really matter? I certainly don't want anyone guilty of either in the White House.

But this fellow's actions were okay because he was pounding on Trump supporter?

    http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/273673-trump-protester-assaulted-at-rally

Pot calling the kettle black as far as I am concerned.

Of course, the bolshevik news readers will never mention any violence by the Hillary's or Bernie's lackeys who find it preferable to use mob-rule instead of a democratic process.

    Whuh??????

A Trump protester gets pounded, so Wyh do you think he is a "Trump supporter"?

Or is it because the Trump supporter that pounded him was black and the Trump protester was white?

and allow me to add, --don't put the hate word on me.....I try very hard to imagine what it's like to live in the other person's shoes---foreign or domestic......you people should know my great interest in foreign cultures and peoples....I constantly greet them and want to get to know them anytime I see ''foreigners''.... most are peaceful and just want to live and work...
but for security and safety, immigration must be cut drastically...should've been after the Iran crisis, or any one of the numerous hate attacks on Americans, Europeans, etc since

I did. YouTube was full of videos of dead Iraqi civilians until the Pentagon stopped its soldiers posing beside headless corpses in cars they shot at because they did not like the look of the driver. I saw one video where a wounded screaming infant was taken from the back seat of a car with her mother & father shot to bits in the front. Blackwater were famous for being trigger-happy thugs. I believe a former Blackwater exec is now a Trump advisor. The West is paying dearly for sanitizing its killing as 'collateral damage'

The IRA campaign 1970-2000 in the UK caused far more damage than all the terror attacks since. The IRA even had considerable help from the Irish community in the USA. Never once did I see their attacks described as Catholic Extremism. No one suggested ending all Irish immigration.

The difference is that the IRA did not kill from religious motives, that the IRA did not want to destroy Britain, while ISIS is murdering because of religious reasons and wants to enslave all non Muslims .

So why did the IRA kill if it was not for religious motives or to destroy Britain, I am now even more concerned you get to vote.

You don't know the reason of the IRA fighting ??

Nationalism : the IRA wanted to include Northern Ireland in the Irish Republic .

And in Belgium,we are obliged to vote, although every time a lot of people do not vote and no one is punished . I know some one who never has voted, because,as he said "these politicians are all the same scum ."A lot of people would agree with him .

I am a member of 3 parties /affiliated organisations, but I never vote for that scum .
