Interesting subject to collect. The only games I collect are tabletop wargames, mostly ASL stuff but others too.

I have an older RISK version. Wooden blocks, a lot of packing tape holding the box together. ..
Thankfully board games can't talk. ..
If a board game could develop PTSD, my game would have it...

I would love to purchase the old xbox and game cube to play the old Call of Duty titles and Brothers in Arms series. The only draw back would be the graphics.

Depends...Can't say that I get nostalgic for the Atari 2600's "Combat".

Although, Activision's "River Raid" is a different story. That was a great game back in the day.

I still have thoughts of running through pixel block hallways with my trusty mp40 shooting at Nazi soldiers and their SS counterparts who would shout "Spion!" at my as I ran past. Wolfenstein 3D will always be a classic.

I played a board B17 game on ship...die and cards, etc....we really got into it ..that was before smart phones, tablets, etc!.....I think it was 'B17 Queen of the Skies'...also played a sub game...can't remember its name, but I liked it.......I'd go to the local hobby store and was amazed at all the board games on specific battles....one was on the Matanikau Battle, a not often heard of battle
didn't know if I should've started a thread on old games or not, ....if you think it should, please advise

Ha...Wolfenstein...took me a while to figure out i could eat the dog food for health....Wolf was light years ahead of Intellivision war games.
What game- is it- Borderlands? where there is a secret level that takes you to Wolfstn castle...

There's a censored version- what was so bad about Wolf that would require any censoring... Tame as far as today's games go.

It's the swastika, a very evil symbol in Germany. Shooting squads of Hitler youth teens into piles of corpses was fine, but no swastikas.

Any Nazi references were removed or changed...The Horst Wessel Lied was deleted, Iron Crosses were changes, references to World War II were deleted, etc.

All done to comply with German laws.

However, several changes were done by Nintendo to maintain their, then, family-friendly image
You also cannot shoot the dogs in the SNES port, they were changed to mutant rats. Thus, no more eating dog food to regain health, now it is cheese.

No violence against women, one of the bosses, Gretel Gross was changed into a man.

    No blood.

No skeletons and piles of bones.

    No fireball shooting Satanists.
