A Stuka that was captured in North Africa in ww2 hung in Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry, It hung there with a donated ww2 Spitfire. once a year they would take the planes down to dust them clean them up. This time after the job was done the hoisted the Stuka back up and the cable broke and Stuka crashed to the floor. The plane went to EAA Experimental Aircraft assn. museum in Osh Kosh Wisconsin, after that I dont know what happened to it. Does anyone know?
I've seen both of those planes numerous times! They are beautiful! I hope the Stuka is repaired and can join the Spitfire again.
now that you mention it, I suddenly rememeber that the Brussels War Museum has an entire Ju 52 (you know, that 3-engine transporter )hanging from its roof. Imagine what happens if that thing comes down... :cry:
