Oaky Dokey... I think I may know this one.

Has is got something to do with his head being chopped off, thus making him shorter when he died than when he was alive??

(This would seem a very strange thing for me, a non Monty Python fan to know but for some reason I can remember my dad mentioning it years ago and it stuck in my memory..Like loads of other useless information)

Correct, the forum is yours Caroline!

"The most interesting thing about King Charles I is that he was 5ft 6inches tall at the start of his reign, and only 4ft 8inches tall at the end of it."

Why use the latin name for this creature? It's not commonly called this, is it?

I'm sorry, I cheated by using Wikipedia. It does not give the subspecies' relative sizes though, so I have no answer.

If I may interject, the latin name is applicable to a distinct branch (For a number of reasons) of this group. Caroline and I kept two until fairly recently, and the latter part of the latin name is identicle to the common name so it is impossible to give away one without the other.

It would be a bit like asking what cat was the Tiger tank named after? ;)

Who knew there were so many kinds of pufferfish???? I'll leave it to someone else, though. Unless my 4-year old asks me a question about "Finding Nemo," I'm actually less interested in learning about fish than I am in eating them! ;)
