One for Castelot. It has been reported in the Uk press about Chirac having a go at Britian. Has anything been reported in the French press?
This happened during a visit to Russia, so maybe the President drunk to much Vodka, I don't know.... It's his personal opinion, but of course in his position he should not say this publically. Now, I hope the british will surprise him with a "special menu" at the G8 summit in Scotland....
Sheep's guts. Great idea! Black Jack Chirac seems to pick on any country that he doesn't get big money from. He sure was friendly with Saddam, reckon he likes Iraqi foods? He's been in office there for a long time now. Is there term limts in France for the President?
I found his comment about "the only thing the British have done for agriculture being B.S.E" the most offensive. It is also hypocritical, as the French had B.S.E before the British, and may still have it. But they won't admit it officially, having the herds destroyed with little or no publicity. My In - laws live in France & I travel there regularly. I love the country & the people that I have met there & French WWII forum members, it's just their government/leaders that P#*s me off.
Haggis is basically oats & offal mixed up and squeezed into sheep guts... Basically a large sausage, really. Oh, and it is georgeous!!!!
[/quote] No, there's no term limit, however no president of the fifth republic has got more than 2 mandates(7 years mandates till 2002, 5 years since then) yet, and the actual one will most probably be no exception to that rule....
Who cares, since after all France will again win more medals than Britain ,as it constantly does on the Olympic Games....
who cares..it a known fact that the country hosting the olympic games always out performs it previous medal tally by large amount...so you won by 33-30 in athens bet it will be different in 2012.
