Wouldn't doubt it seeing as the Nashorn used the 8.8cm L/71. What cracks me up is how people keep saying "With a single shot !!!!!!1" like it's any surprise.

Yes but the thing that I thought that the Pershing never saw combat and that he came to late for battle.

I'm afraid I have no other sources to confirm this than this forum, but on here I have read of two instances where a Pershing was knocked out during WW2: one by a Nashorn, as recorded above, and another by a Tiger from behind at point-blank range. This does mean that they saw action, however.

Well yeah they saw action. First action with Pershings involved was Operation Zebra in 1945.

Wasn't that in the Elsdorf area? Also we can assume they did see action as it's mentioned in "Death Traps" by Belton Cooper for one and mentioned as being a Pershing that knocked out the Panther at Cologne cathedral.

there is a video of the cologne combat, first the panther hits a sherman , you can see the crew baling out, then the pershing shots the panther twice and the panther gets on fire after the second hit , they said the panther burned for 2 days, why ? i do not know

The Zebra Mission was the operation to bring T26E3s (later to be known as Pershings) and a prototype of 90mm AT gun to ETO, and maybe other "hot new" stuff.

    This was Elsdorf, that's right.
Mr Cooper was involved in the up-armouring of the lone T26E4 (longer 90mm gun) sent to ETO. The idea was to bring it to parity with the Tiger II, but none were met.
The T26E3 that got the Panther in Cologne was a normal tank.

So to answer this question is no this is incorrect!

Only one Pershing was a total loss. 3 at least were hit and seriously damaged and 2 were able to be repaired.

The German tank is said to have been seen destroyed, so...
I searched for a Tiger II loss on this day and in Dessau if possible.
I found only one Tiger II lost on 21 April 1945 on the Western Front, from Kompanie Kummersdorf (an ad hoc unit formed in the last weeks of the war) but it is said to be destroyed "near Luchau" (cause unknown).
And according to a French site (wwwmappy.fr) , both cities are 150/170km apart.

Source : 'Trail of the Tiger' booklet by Ron Klages (a serious poster on many DGs), he used data from Tiger in Combat volumes from Fedorowicz (and there is not much additional information in them)

Mistakes (especially on Panzer models encountered: every German tank was a Tiger and gun a '88') are FREQUENT in reports, so I am still unconvinced...
