soviet era war movie

    This is from Soviet epic film "Battle at Kursk" directed by i belive Sergey Bondarshchuk. AFAIK epic Waterloo (also directed by Bondarshchuk) was filmed at the same time on the other side of the hill and same extras were used in both films (they did have to change the costumes). Realy a war classic film.

    Soviet takers use very strong language, that could not be repeated here or god forbid used in US films :D :D

    It is interesting that in the times when nobody realy bothered to make tanks used by the film "germans" look like german tanks (Battle of the bulge, Patton used unmodified M-47....) This guys did weld a few plates to the T-55 to make them look like tigers (at least from the distance). I also don't remember that such bloody close combat scenes of unhorsed tankers were ever used in the west.
