    The topic for showing off your completed modules!

    Here are my initial (fuzzy) pictures:
    . I'm actually very pleased with this model - beware of a slightly biased judge! :D

    You can clearly see the mug of tea in the hand of the commander, but the cigarette in his other hand has not quite come out.

    Ricky.

    Good detailing for 1/72. I initially assumed 1/48.

    The tea doesn't look quite dark enough though! ;) :D

    Here's my Tiger I. It represents 2.SS PzAbt. 102 in Villers-Boccage, Normandy on June 13th, 1944.

    The markings are hand painted. They didn't turn out all that well because of the Zimmerit. The kit is a Dragon 1/72 scale from the Eastern Front. I couldn't find a Normandy period Tiger kit anywhere.

    Thanks for the good replies!

    As for the shaking hands, I use a small block of wood to set the model on and a folded up cloth (rag) to make a pad to rest my hand on. Also, try to trace the markings lightly with a pencil and then paint them.

    Great to see the second finished model! Good work there Jcalhoun, as always. I have always liked zimmerit coating. Did you make it yourself or did it come with the package?

    BTW, awesome to see you've made a 1/72!

    PP;
    The Zimmerit is part of the model. I think they did a good job of creating.

    I doubt I would try to make Zimmerit on that small of a scale. :D

    True, true. Maybe clay may do the job, but I highly doubt it... ;)

    good job anyway! They should apply that zimmerit to other models too, I've never seen any prefabricated zimmerit on 1/72 models.

    I once tried Zimmerit on 1/72... I simply softened the surface of the plastic with glue and then used a mini screwdriver to make the marks. It worked ok... but it is far from a uniform look, and you can only do teeny bits at a time, and it is very easy to mess it up (with no way of correcting mistakes)

    Overall - don't bother! ;)
