I understand that there has lately been an outbreak of what are caled "nags" in IT jargon. These are displays that appear on the screen purporting to be a chaser for a bill for a service bought over the Internet. Obviously, therefore, Internet porn would often be a service that they would allege one has allegedly purchased. I , too, have started to get one of these from a firm called Micro Bill Systems, and each day it gets worse inasmauch as whereas it was previously removeable from the screen, now it remains frxed for a given length of time. Does anyone know to to get rid of this problem ? BG
WHat antivirus software are you running? Is it up to date? You could try http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/How-to-r ... 60681.html or http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forums/index ... &forumid=1 as steps to remove it If you need more specific steps, please contact me by PM with your PC operating system and I will look out a detailed guide Tom
I use three programs, all free for home users, that keep my PC clear of such things. Spybot S&D, AdAware and Avast Antiviral software. All three are highly rated and did I mention free?
If used regularly and in combination, these three will catch almost anything. They will definitely clear out the most widely known types of spybots, the cause for the pop-ups you are suffering from. Spybot S&D is absolutely mandatory.
Thanks Tom (and others), your kind offers of advice/help are sincerely appreciated ! I shall get "'er Indoors" (being half my age, she is twice as good with IT !)to check up on what our spec.is, and get back to you. I wouldn't mind paying for the porn ( if it was any good ! ), but being billed for something I never had really sticks in my craw ! BG
bos has a wife half his age and still has pay per view porn as well ...this guys not a man.. he is a machine!!
I personaly think, after using many anti-virus programs, that the best are bitdefender in combination with adaware.
