I’ve just completed transcribing an article which was first published in 1945. It’s by a Navy man who was one of those assigned to setting-up amphibious training in Scotland for Combined Operations. The article is his story and views and runs about 5-6 pages of A4. If this is of interest I post it in sections? He's 93 and still mustering by the way. No.9
I'm always interested in this sort of record. I've been reading up on the US Army's Amphibious Training Center and Engineer Amphibian Command for several years now. If no one else reacts, please e-share the information with me at: milhistnet@earthlink.net You might also want to look at: http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/books/agf/agf22/amphib-fm.htm
MHN – Understood, already done. The Centre of Military History is a very good resource for sure, with still plenty more to come! No.9
