Well, i was browsing the local consignment shop shelves and stumbled on an old photo of a German soldier. I tried finding the info myself, but my search proved fruitless. There maybe some info on the back of the picture, but since the frame has the original tape on it, i'd really prefer not to take it out. Links to the photos ( If you need better ones i can take them): http://images.snapfish.com/343%3A4%3B3923232%7Ffp58%3Dot%3E232%3B%3D974%3D899%3DXROQDF%3E2323882983837ot1lsi http://images.snapfish.com/343%3A4%3B3923232%7Ffp64%3Dot%3E232%3B%3D974%3D899%3DXROQDF%3E23238829868%3C9ot1lsi http://images.snapfish.com/343%3A4%3B3923232%7Ffp45%3Dot%3E232%3B%3D974%3D899%3DXROQDF%3E2323882986466ot1lsi Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
ok. it could be 1 of 3 things. luftwaffa, bomber, or sharpshooter, givein the target looking thing on his hat. ambey a private(or german equivlent). but ask an expet, i cant be sure
It is a Heer (Army) Gefreiter (corporal). I can't say what the ribbon's colour is and then know if he was infantry, cavalry or whatever (it seems a light colour, pink, white, grey or yellow). There's no sign of unit markings… I'd recommend you to visit www.militariacollecting.com
I was told he was training to be an NCO because of the stripe on his shoulder board, and that because of the collar and the shape of the boards that it's probably pre-war or very early war.
