a German I have never met has done me a big favour finding a grave and photographing it for me, of my grandfathers brothers who died in WW1.
I am now asking on his behalf if there is anyone who could check up and photo a grave of one of his uncles died in WW2.
The grave is situated in Aluksne in Latvia. He understands the volksbund looks after the grave but he can not get there to see it himself.

    thanks Mats.
Von Poop has suggested another forum, its all helpful especially as Im unsure of local feelings even 60 or 90 years on.
I worked with an ex RAF POW who was in one of the infamous River Kwai camps. He never , in all the years I knew him would talk about his experience and perish the thought that he buy something with 'Made in Japan' on!
