They had to double the width of the runways on Midway to keep the gooneys from building nests in way of take offs and landings.

Those old World War II aircraft, something to walk around and look at. But you could never get me up in one, even if I had the money for the ride.

Last time I used Google Earth to look at Midway, and not sure when it was there, tons of the birds there.

Yeah, the birds are a protected species, so the maintenance people had to allow for them being ... birdbrains ... when it came to nesting.

Hope for millions after spinal cord injury research breakthrough - MSN

Australia continues its contribution to medical science...Many of our discoveries and inventions are safety and health orientated. Such as Spray on Skin...The black box for aircraft...The Pacemaker...Medical application of penicillin!...Cochlea Implants (Bionic Ear) - Ultra Sound scanners...etc etc...This could be one of our best.

The way my hillbilly cousins drive that sounds great. Except, of course, for the fact that they could drive again. The US has astronauts, Arkansas has juggernauts.

So I can thank Australia for my pacemaker! But they couldn’t get the wires through to my heart from the left side which is usually the normal way so the doctor had to install it under my right shoulder and run the wires. The left side is all occluded due to the radiation that I had for cancer in 1990. The pacemaker went in June 2022. My heart rate was down to 45 when I called the ambulance. Three days later and with some terrible hospital food…………I had my pacemaker.

I don’t really think any hospital food is very good. I have only been in two. This was in Chambersburg, Pa.

The non-VA hospital I used to go to* had a very well stocked list of items, much variety. Unless you're a diabetic. Then 66% of the items weren't allowed. I knew they were there, I knew I couldn't get them. So Boss Lady brought me a six pack of Mars bars.

*Before one of their staff attacked me.

Movie magic: In one of the Godzilla movie (vs. Ghidorah. ) the interior of their Ospreys was more than twice as wide as the ones in the real world.
