Where Eagles Dare on Sunday, wow those Germans are rotten shooters. Bloody CH5 logo got on my nerves.
Saw the new WarnerBrothers and German coorporation movie about THE RED BARON. I found it well done on the scenes and the overall movie script. Propably too little action for "bloodthirsty" war movie expectations. Regards Kruska
Watched Red Sun with Charles Bronson and Toshiro Mifune. A cowboy and a samuri in the wild west. What can be better?
I can't stand seeing those channel logo's either. Usually when a good movie is on-and that I have on DvD, I just play the dvd ;-)) Last night on TCM was Yul Brynner night. First off-I saw Westworld, and then I watched the great Charlton Heston and Yul Brenner classic: The Buccanneer. Man that was a great night of watching movies. I ended the Tv viewing with a great 1st season episode of COMBAT-played on the American Life Network.
Carl Funny you mentioned Westworld I was only watching it a couple of days ago. :shotgun::shootoutduo:istolshoot: Good film for its time.
Hi Richard, and yep, it's a very good film. Did you know that it's going to be remade? I would almost bet that Hollywood is going to screw it up though :-( PS, all I got to see last night was an episode of the 1st season of COMBAT-Hill 256. Kirby was on trial for cowardess. Also, for the Brits here-British Soldiers were in this episode ;-)
I've been watching the documentary series 'Their Finest Hour' recently on UKTV History, it's really interesting. UKTV History used to show an episode of The World At War everyday, they don't anymore though
Saw another great 1st season episode of COMBAT last night. This one was called Sniper and featured Hans Gudagast (aka) Eric Braedon) as the German Sniper. Any fans of the great war movie: "Hell Is For Heroes" which starred: Steve McQueen, Fess Parker, James Coburn, Harry Guardino and Nick Adams, will recognize the woman who plays the bartender in this episode as the woman who played the bartender in Hell Is For Heroes. I don't know her name but she was a good actress and fairly pretty too.
Nothing but GARBAGE was on cable TV last night-including the two Westerns I saw that were on. Squirm was absolutely one of the most stupidest movies I had seen in a long time. Then there was Leatherface-a VERY stupid sequal to a VERY stupid horror franchise. Fragging masked idiot with a chainsaw waltzing around a forest chasing some hapless female trying to carve her into prime cut meat. I wonder what VERY sick mind comes up with this shit?
This might be a bit up Jaegers Alley, as this morning on TCM, they played a movie with Paul Muni in it-which had to do with him being in the Norwegian Resistance. I thought it was a pretty good movie-having that I never had seen any of Muni's movies before. Sadly, I did not catch it from the very beginning and do not know it's title but, I will find that out and will post title here later today or tomorrow. PS, tonights viewing will include at least one or two episodes from COMBAT.
Last night was another great night of viewing. The first movie I watched was the Western that was chosen as the best western of all-time with the actor chosen as the best Cowboy of all-time-which was: The Searchers with John Wayne and Ward Bond. After that was Tango & Cash w/ Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell.
